Summary
Retrospective analysis of n=178 pain patients (median 72 years, range 26-96) over a median of 366 days of cannabinoid therapy (dronabinol, nabiximols, extracts); 115 patients (65%) received opioids in parallel (median 65 mg/day morphine equivalent). Significant opioid reduction by 24 mg/day or 50% (p<0.05), independent of cannabinoid dose, age and sex. Discontinuation rate due to adverse effects only 2.8% (n=5).
